Required Minimum Education: BA required
Required Years of Related Experience: 10-15 years of experience in communications
Extensive experience working in a matrix environment across multiple regions and complex stakeholder interdependencies.
A natural collaborator with a proven track record at managing multiple stakeholders, driving new approaches and measurable results.
Ability to lead throughout a rapid pace of change with a high level of ambiguity.
Commitment to talent development and leading in high-pressure situations; demonstrated ability to assimilate high-level strategic information and convert it into clear and concise communications.
A proven track record of collaborating closely with very senior leaders in developing and executing strategic thought leadership programming.
Strong media relations skills – including proactive storytelling and high-pressure issues management.
Ability to influence the external environment – particularly in the policy space.
A focused ability to influence – in some situations without direct authority
Strong organizational and project management skills and an ability to deliver results under tight time constraints.

Develop and implement a global communications strategy for the Company, demonstrating and amplifying Johnson & Johnson’s commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion and focus on creating racial, social and health justice for underserved communities around the world
Partner with enterprise and sector stakeholders to develop optimal and specific communications strategies and initiatives to bring to life that support Johnson & Johnson’s DEI commitment, approach to address health inequities and injustices and ensure pull-through of related values in the workplace and across the healthcare industry.

Lead a team of 4-5 direct and dotted line reports focused on creating a common narrative, engaging experiences, programs and focused communications plans that generate impact with internal and external stakeholders.

Partner with Global Community Impact and DEI champions and leaders across the Company to create a consistent approach for leaders and employees championing DEI efforts.

Develop and maintain relationships with key media, trade, influential stakeholder and communication partners serving as a DEI expert for the Company.

About the Company

The Senior Director, Enterprise Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Communications and Strategy is responsible for the development and implementation of a communications strategy for Johnson & Johnson’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) work and all other health equity and justice-related communications. The lead business partner for this leader is the Chief Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Officer and this leader will be a key member of the Global DEI leadership team. This role will have responsibility for aggregating and developing a common narrative and cohesive communications strategy that demonstrates and elevates the company’s commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion as well as racial, social and health justice. The Senior Director will develop strategic partnerships across the enterprise in order to bring to life Johnson & Johnson’s commitments and values in this area throughout the workplace and within the healthcare industry. This leader will align closely with Sector DEI comms leads on DEI messaging and coordination of initiatives across our global organization.

Leading a team of direct and dotted line reports, the Senior Director will design and activate engaging experiences, communications programs and strategies that engage internal and external stakeholders. Serving as a DE&I champion and steward for the company, the Senior Director will be engaging with the Global Corporate Affairs Leadership team, partner directly with various DE&I leaders and equity champions across the company and serve as an internal expert on key related industry trends, media and policy.
