The Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine, headquartered in Scranton, PA, was established through the grassroots efforts of visionary individuals who foresaw what a community-based medical school would bring to the region and worked to make it a reality. On January 1, 2017, TCMC integrated with Geisinger Health and became the Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine (GCSOM). Today GCSOM has 593 MD/MBS students and 569 residents/fellows and functions with a distributed model of medical education with five clinical regional campuses. For more information, please visit
